Barbara S., Mar 11, 2008, 9:31PM EDTHi Alice,
Of course I'll accept you as a friend. Friends are only strangers we haven't met yet.
I'm not into some of the things you are, but if that doesn't bother you, then drop me an email.

Jennifer N., Feb 24, 2008, 3:04AM ESTAlice,
I hear you about the pings. We should have some notifications about them. Maybe one day they'll do that. I think now and again I get an email about them, but not often.
I only know what we've seen online about Baxter's Hollow. Here's a site about it. Baxter's Hollow
Looks really nice and I can't wait to go when it warms up!
I've never seen Devil's Lake in the winter - bet it's beautiful, though. I'd love to see Parfrey's in the winter, but it's just not safe to hike there in the ice and snow!
The wolves are beautiful at the zoo. Sue is our friend. We are there several times a week and she runs right up to us. I have several close-up shots of her posted here.
Alice, I totally understand how it's hard to navigate to everyone's Gather pages. I try, but I don't get to see and comment on as much as I would like to.
You stay warm!

Jennifer N., Feb 19, 2008, 6:51AM ESTVery cool you like true crime and mystery novels! That's exactly the type I write. :)

Jennifer N., Feb 19, 2008, 6:50AM ESTThis time of year there's not much to do in the Baraboo area. The Oschner Zoo is free and open year round, however the animals are semi inactive due to weather.
The Al. Ringling Theater is a must see and great for a cold day's trip.
Circus World is fun, but this time of year it's barren and has less available.
Dr Evermor's Art Park is fabulous, except with all this snow you'd never get through there. I doubt it's plowed out. (It's free)
Good things to do in Baraboo area in warmer weather: Parfrey's Glen, Pewitt's Nest, Natural Bridge, Devil's Lake, Oschner Park and a new natural park one we can't wait to see: Baxter's Hollow.
My apologies for the delay. I didn't see your ping until a few moments ago! -
